The Cabo Chronicles, Vol. 4: I Asked for Opinions and Regretted It Immediately

12:25 PM. Maya voted for both options. I don't have the energy to address it. I sent that poll this morning with genuinely good intentions. Two clean vibes. No pressure. Just a read on the room so I could narrow down what to actually send them. I know better than to drop fifteen resort links into a group chat with no direction — that's how you get a week of silence and three "they all look great!!" responses. So I did the responsible thing. I asked first. What I did not account for was forty minutes of Bottega discourse, one unsolicited Popeyes review, and then three perfectly neutral non-answers from grown women who clearly had opinions they were not ready to share publicly. Let me tell you what I actually know about these girls. Jada is not a feelings voter. She is a facts voter. She voted for the villa. And then Kendra brought up Nia and somehow feelings won. Iman has had a private jungle villa aesthetic saved somewhere for at least two years. I have seen it. She pivoted to "better photo ops" because Kendra gave her a comfortable exit. And Maya — who was at lunch, God bless her — came back, looked at the poll, and voted for both options. Both. Simultaneously. I don't know what happened. I don't think she does either. And then there's Kendra. Now is probably the time to mention that Kendra is Nia's younger sister. She became Maid of Honor the way most people become Maid of Honor in families — quietly, automatically, without much discussion. I want to be clear that I have never once had a problem with that. What I find interesting is how a title that comes with zero logistical responsibility still carries enough social weight to flip an entire poll in under an hour. She said Nia deserved something big and unforgettable. She said it with love. She is not wrong — Nia does deserve something special. But I know my best friend. I know she would be perfectly happy somewhere quiet with a good playlist and the people she loves most. The resort was never really for Nia. But nobody was going to be the one to say that out loud. So now I have a poll that reads 80% in big confident numbers and means almost nothing. And I have to go find beachfront resort options for a group that voted based on guilt, aesthetics, and whatever Maya was thinking at lunch. I'll send the links this week. I genuinely hope they click them. Unbothered. Moisturized. Lying about both. — Chloe |
